Performing hip circles is an effective preperation movement that will improve flexibility.

Performing hip circles is an effective preparation movement which improves flexibility in the spine and hip area. You can use this as a warm up before exercise, or to mobilize and remove tension any time you feel stiff.

It is beneficial for those of us who sit at desks all day or those of us who drive for a living and are cooped up in their vehicles for long periods of time.

Sit tall on the exercise ball with your knees over your ankles and your hands on your thighs.

Make a circular motion with your hips. Use a slow and controlled speed. First rotate clockwise for 8-10 rotations then change direction and do 8-10 rotations in an anti-clockwise direction.

Try not to exaggerate the movement as you will compromise good form. Keep your shoulders back and chest lifted and look forward as you do the exercise. Breath in and out in a normal fashion.
